This matcha strainer (chakoshi 茶漉し) is thoughtfully designed to perfectly fit standard matcha bowls. With a handle and support hook, it can rest securely on the bowl, allowing for easy hands-free sifting. While its size and mesh (30 mesh) are optimized for matcha, its compact form also makes it ideal for brewing loose leaf tea in smaller servings.

The mesh has been specially treated with a unique surface process called "Kona Tsukaazu" (meaning it prevents powder from sticking). This finish creates microscopic peaks (around 80,000 per mm²) on the metal surface, which greatly reduces powder sticking and enhances flow. As a result, powder passes through at roughly twice the speed of standard strainers, cutting sifting time in half.
