Third generation tea farmer whose family has been farming tea on the island of Tanegashima for some 50 years, Iba Yu grows a number of unique cultivars harvesting in late March and early April.

Asanoka, Kuritawase, Nanmei, Saemidori, Shuntaro (his own special cultivar), Yume Midori.

In the summer, he takes the second flush and crafts a small amount into black tea.
