Tea Infused Mulled Wine Recipe

Tea Infused Mulled Wine Recipe

Sachiko Murata |

Indulge yourself with this "tea-wine" on the festive season. This fruity warm drink will put you in the festive spirit and impress your holiday guests.

Combination of Black Tea and Red Wine

This fruity drink is based on black tea combined with mulled wine.

Black tea is a good match with alcohol drinks as there are some black teas with rum and whisky in the world.

Black tea and red wine are also a good combination, especially as a hot drink. A drink combining will taste like a delicious fruit tea.

Making You Warm and Happy

Black tea, red wine and aromatic spices will truly warm you from the inside. It's a perfect drink for festive tea time, and also for people who do not drink that much alcohol.

This cozy, easy tea wine is good for a family gathering, too.

Tea Infused Mulled Wine RECIPE

Ingredients

  • half a bottle (375ml) red wine
  • 600ml black tea (2 teabags or 8g-10g loose leaf)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 lemon or orange squeezed juice
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • slices of lemon, star anise, cinnamon stick for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Put the red wine, cloves, star anise, cinnamon, lemon juice and sugar in a large pan. Heat the pan on medium until it's almost simmering. Reduce the heat to low and heat for 5 more minutes.

  2. Remove from the heat and cool, leaving to infuse for about 30 minutes.

  3. Before serving, make a pot of tea. Reheat the pan of wine without boiling, and add the tea.

  4. To serve, pour into mugs or heatproof glasses, and top with slices of lemon or your favorite garnishes.
