Yunomi Charity Yoga is happening in August!

Yunomi Charity Yoga is happening in August! - Yunomi.life

Yunomi Staff |

Hello! We hope you are all staying safe, healthy, and cool. At Yunomi, we are excited to announce Online Yunomi Yoga classes for the month of August. Fees will be donate to charity at a rate of 110% (your fee + 10% from Yunomi)

What can you expect in a Yunomi Yoga session?

We will be offering a few 60-minute online (Zoom) yoga classes for mindful movement inspired by Yunomi's philosophy of a life steeped in tea.  After the yoga class, there will also be an optional 15 - 20 minutes of harvesting, which will be a free space for you to share your experience, perhaps even with a cup of tea!  We would be delighted if you could join us.

Instructor - Moé Kishida

Moé was initially drawn to yoga due to her awe for the human body and curiosity in contemplative practices. She obtained her RYT 200 from Lila Yoga Studios (State College, PA) with Erica Kaufman in 2015. One aspect of yoga she appreciates is the ability to create space through the breath and movement. While always a student, Moé aspires to help practitioners find this unbiased spaciousness that is available to us all of the time (like the sky!). In addition to yoga, Moé enjoys contact improvisation, explorations in nature, strumming the ukulele, and of course, a good cup of Japanese tea with good company. Although not actively teaching yoga in the moment, covid-19 has made her curious about how to build connection and community via online platforms. She's also looking forward to exploring the dance between yoga and Japanese tea!

When is it happening?

  • August 8th (Saturday)
  • August 11th (Tuesday)
  • August 13th (Thursday)

What times will the yoga sessions be held?

All classes will be held at one time:

  • 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM New York
  • 10:00 - 11:30 AM Chicago
  • 8:00 - 9:30 AM Los Angeles
  • 16:00 - 17:30 London

*Please double-check the time in your own time zone!

How much will it cost?

Donations:  $15.00 fee will be be donated to tea farm Kajihara Tea Garden in Kumamoto at a rate of 110% (your fee + 10% from Yunomi). During the heavy rains and flooding this July, landslides went through his tea field. We would like to help him out a little as he attempts to rebuild the field so that the rest of it can be cultivated safely.

*We do not yet sell tea from Kajihara Tea Garden, but have tasted his award-winning black teas in the past, and will be exploring his products in the coming months.
