This drink brings together two classic Japanese flavors, Kurogoma (黒胡麻) and Matcha (抹茶): the nutty richness of black sesame and the deep, earthy taste of matcha. The result is a beautiful layered latte that looks as good as it tastes. When you stir it, the color turns into a soft minty blue-green — It's so beautiful!

Black Sesame Matcha Latte Recipe
Ingredients (Serving: 1 cup)
- 1 tbsp black sesame powder (sweetened or unsweetened)
- 1 tsp syrup or honey, to taste
- 100-150ml your favorite milk
- 1.5 tsp matcha (4g)

50-60ml (4 tbsp) hot water
Instructions
- Warm the milk in a microwave or saucepan until it reaches about 60–70°C (140–160°F).
- Make the black sesame base: In a glass, combine the sesame powder and syrup. Add about 1 tbsp of the warmed milk and stir well until smooth.
- Pour the remaining milk into the glass.
- Prepare the matcha: In a small bowl, whisk the matcha with the hot water until smooth and frothy. A small whisk or milk frother works best.
- Gently pour the prepared matcha over the milk.
