A great way to experience the delicious umami flavor of gyokuro without spending so much money is by using the fannings filtered out during refinement. It steeps very quickly and resteeps are not very strong, but that first cup is still ambrosia!
Steeping Recommendation
2-3 grams of tea, 3 min, 50C/122F, 50 ml of water for an espresso of umami. Resteep at hotter temperature to enjoy as a sencha (200 ml, 10-20 sec)
