湯のみ再封可能な袋

Yunomi Resealable Bags - Yunomi.life

Ian Chun |

In the article above, it says: “Doing this helps us to improve packaging where it can be improved as well as buy in bulk and work with producers to create exclusive products for Yunomi.” — If tea is purchased in bulk from sellers and then put into bags by Yunomi to sell, then there is no packaging being wasted. In fact, by using Yunomi bags which are of a specific size and can be stacked well in boxes, Yunomi reduces the need for additional packing material inside the boxes to cushion things.

In the case where things are repackaged which are already in small form (i.e. not in bulk), I do feel: (1) that it is wasteful, and (2) it reduces the visibility of the farmer (particularly to foreign customers who are more apt to remember iconic packaging than unfamiliar names). I believe that both of these issues can be solved by changing only one thing and it would also reduce the labor on the part of Yunomi: put the original small packages inside of Yunomi resealable bags. That way, the customer gets the original packaging as well as a resealable bag that they can empty the tea into once they open it up. This will take into account the farmer and their visibility, the amount of labor on Yunomi’s part, as well as the suitability of packages for stacking in boxes. All the issues are addressed at once.

The only thing that may be different is that slightly larger resealable bags may need to be used to fit the packages of tea within them. But, seeing as this saves all the labor of emptying tea out into the bags, it would seem like a reasonable exchange. It would also make the customers happy who have said that they’re upset about waste in packaging. And, it would keep farmers happy because their visibility isn’t negatively impacted.

I hope you will take this feedback into consideration. :)

    Skye,

I am absolutely with Alex, and just for the sake of havin a nice and Long complaint comment im gonna copy his: “Absolutely against this. There’s no reason for a marketplace/retailer to repackage teas arbitrarily. I will continue to shop for personal use due to the excellent service I have experienced so far from Yunomi, but I will purchase less and I will never buy a gift from Yunomi again, as long as this new repackaging is going on. I don’t want to gift an ugly, repackaged product.
Imagine if the Yunomi’s favorite wine store, which they trust very much and love, a store they regularly buy wine from, started rebottling and relabeling Yunomi’s favorite bottles of wine with their own. So instead of the wine estate’s original bottle, cork, and label, Yunomi now has to buy wine with the retailer’s bottle, new cork, and reprinted label. The packaging claims to be the original wine, but all of Yunomi’s favorite bottles of wine now look the same. Very strange. I think very soon Yunomi would visit that store less and less, with trust eroding over time. Eventually, I believe Yunomi would find another wine store that simply sells the original wine, in their original bottles.
Original packaging shouldn’t be the exception…the marketplace/retailer packaging should be the exception when the size is smaller than original packaging. Very bad.”

    Alex,

TEA is good for the soul.

    Douglas M Hagen,

It just seems to me that exposing delicate teas to oxygen an extra time to repackage is not in the interest of the best cup. I understand it could possibly save on shipping cost, but if I am going direct to Japan for my tea it means I am looking for the best experience.

How can we request “original” packaging? Especially if the original packing was nitrogen purged, I would prefer not to lose that.

    Mike,
